The Antibank Proposal

The Antibank seeks to reconnect the public with banks, increasing awareness, knowledge, and inspiring change. It will help citizens not only by educating them on banking practices, but advocating for them as well.

The Antibank will create create several large spaces throughout the building and site, which will allow for people to gather, sharing ideas, goods, and if need be – allowing for protests. The main concept of this project is the realization of a continuous parkspace which begins at Trinity Church, continues down Wall Street, and at the end becomes a ramp which takes people from the ground all the way to the roof of the building. This series of ramps comprises the main circulation for the project and connects to the main entrance of the building. In this way, the project, though the introduction of greenery, connects not only to the whole of Wall Street, but begins to blur the lines between where the project begins and ends.

Overall the project seeks to enlighten, advocate, educate, inform and reform our perception of the financial system.
